# How to Connect to the Server </ span >

Having said that we connect to a Teamspeak 3 server using the Connections menu then Connect, taking care to correctly enter the following data:

  • Address: IP address of the Teamspeak
  • Port: Teamspeak server port
  • Nickname of your choice
  • Server password (if any)
  • Find all these details in the activation email you receive immediately after placing your order

By pressing the Connect button you will enter the Teamspeak server. If you are unable to log in, you are probably using incorrect data, most likely you have not entered the door.

# Add server to favorites

To add your server to favorites. Go to Bookmarks and click Add to Bookmarks. Add the name you want to give to your server The server will be saved with your login credentials. In order to re-enter the Teamspeak it will therefore be sufficient to go to Bookmarks, click again on Bookmarks and select the server.

# Administer the server </ span >

First once you have purchased the Teamspeak server service we will send you an email which contains all your data and contains the "Token". The Token is a unique alphanumeric string that grants the user who uses it the status of Super Administrator. To identify yourself as an administrator, insert the Token on the Permission menu and press Ok. If the Token entered is correct you will be assigned the Super Administrator powers.

Why the Token?

The use of the Token instead of a password for assigning powers guarantees greater security as the Tokens are unique and can only be used once. In fact, the Token after use is removed and is no longer available. In this way, only one user and no one else will be able to use the powers corresponding to that Token. Upon entering the TS3 identification is immediate and automatic. The server will grant you the powers without further verification.

# Create tokens of Admin and SuperAdmin

The first question that usually arises is how do you create other administrative tokens. Going to Permission and Token Manager you will see the Token management with relative associated permissions for all users. In our case, being the only administrators, only our Token will be present.

With the Add Token button you can generate new Tokens with associated permissions to communicate to the users to whom you want to assign powers on the server. Depending on the groups you have created you will have different items in the Group drop-down menu. By default there will be Server Admin (full powers), Normal (user), Guest (guest). In this case, we are only interested in the first item. By clicking on Create a new Token will be generated. It will be enough to communicate it to a user to make him have full powers in the whole TS3 .

# Token for channels

Sometimes it may happen that it is necessary to assign powers to users only in certain channels and not in the whole server. Selecting the Channel Group item in Type, the new Channel menu will appear on the right containing the list of all the channels on the server. Selecting the Channel will generate a Token with powers valid only within that Channel.

It is possible to create administrative tokens from the TS3 software and from the Webadmin panel also from the TCAdmin however it is good to keep in mind that this possibility is valid only under one condition. The default name of the administrators group must be Server Admin. It is case sensitive therefore the SERVER ADMIN or server admin values are not valid. Of course, you can name the admin group as you see fit. Just keep in mind that the TCAdmin will only recognize the value "Server Admin"

# Server Configuration

Description of settings and preferences on the server

Now let's move on to configuring the TS3 . Right click on Channel Default and Edit Virtual Server. From here you can set the server name, the password to enter, the welcome message, a description (you can use the BBCode ), the logo, the link to your website and much more. At the end of the changes click on Ok to save.

# Create channels and sub-channels

In the same way, always clicking on the right-click on Channel Default, you can select Create Channel to create an unlimited number of Channels and Sub-Channels with different themes. For each you can set the audio quality, codecs, name, description, rules, permissions and so on.
